ENTERING THE VENUS RETROGRADE SLIPSTREAM

The next Venus retrograde (5 Oct to 16 Nov) is rapidly approaching. These come once every 19 months. The last one took place early in 2017 in March/April. They last about 6 weeks. On Monday this week we started entering into the slipstream of the next Venus retrograde. Most of it will be in Scorpio, but it will retrograde back into Libra for a few weeks before returning to direct motion again.

It looks set to be a hot contentious time. Venus rules relationships of all kinds here on planet Earth. For you on a personal basis, the microcosm. you’ll be just fine. It will prove to be a lucky time. But in the macrocosm, that is the big picture, the Venus retrograde is playing out with the controversial and chaotic hearings over the Supreme Court nominee in the US. The funeral Aretha Frank is also tied in with the Venus in Scorpio retrograde. The storm over Nike choosing Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback as one of the faces of Nike ad campaign. You will recall that he started kneeling during the playing of the American anthem. Scorpio is the witches brew where contentious issues are tossed in and boiled up.

For you, though, on a personal basis, it’s going to be good, so don’t worry. Help is coming to an area of your life where it is sorely needed. If you remain focussed, determined and hopeful, there is no telling what success is waiting to greet you. We’ll come back to this over the next few weeks.

THE HEALING POWER OF SATURN
All the planets have retrograde cycles when they appear to move backwards against the background of fixed starts. There a common misconception that retrograde cycles are negative periods of time. Nothing could be further from the truth. When you tune into retrograde cycles in a positive way, wonderful things happen.

Saturn has been moving retrograde since April. Today, the Chief Inspector, comes to a full stop and slowly begins to turn direct. Over the past 4 months, you’re likely to have become aware of a problem in some area of your life – some sort of dissatisfaction. This is good. A SHIFT IS HAPPENING IN THE TIME-SPACE CONTINUUM
Saturn is beaming out powerful energy now as he changes gear from reverse to forward. One can almost hear the clutch clunking as the cogs and wheels shift into new positions. Saturn aka as Chronos rules the time-space continuum. He holds the hourglass and measures out the chapters and seasons of our lives.

Saturn in astrology officially rules the earth-sign Capricorn, but it can also be said that he is the de facto ruler of the other 2 earth signs of Taurus and Virgo, especially Virgo, the 6th sign of the zodiac. Six is depicted by the cube, a 3-dimensional geometric shape. It’s a symbol of matter.

How interesting it was when scientists discovered a hexagon-shaped circular vortex (a mass of whirling fluid or air, especially a whirlpool or whirlwind) situated on Saturn’s north pole 38 years ago. NASA’s Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecraft spotted this sharp-corned feature when they flew by Saturn in 1980 and 1981, respectively. Scientists got a more detailed look at the hexagon in 2004 when NASA’s Cassini Spacecraft began orbiting the ringed planet.

How fascinating that a hexagram (a 6-sided geometric shape) is clearly visible on Saturn’s north pole. Saturn is the 6th planet from the Sun; the number six is depicted in the cube which is a symbol of our time-space continuum; Virgo has a close to connection to Saturn is the 6th sign of the zodiac. The number six plays an important part with the symbolism of Saturn.

So now, just as Saturn reaches a crescendo in power and influence with his change in direction, scientists report the weird and mysterious discovery of another hexagonal vortex at a higher altitude up above the clouds akin to the famous hexagon seen deeper down in Saturn’s clouds.

All this interconnectedness with the symbolism of the number six and Saturn at a time when Saturn is exuding a powerful influence in our human experience is significant. I will come back to this again in this column. It will be connected to extreme weather we are witnessing as well as the increased seismic activity that is happening.

Progress ebbs and flows like the tide. Several steps forward are inevitably followed by a step or two backwards. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH EVERYONE CAUGHT IN THE CROSSHAIRS OF HURRICANE FLORENCE

As Hurricane Florence bears down on the Carolinas on the US eastern seaboard, we all pray for the safety of all the people and animals facing the fearsome and angry power of nature. Mass evacuations are taking place. Up to 40 inches of rain is expected to fall. It’s being called the storm of the century. Meanwhile, a kitten litter of potential hurricanes are lining up out in the Atlantic waiting their turn to bombard the Caribbean and US.

It’s a complex picture astrologically, but what really stands out is a dynamic angle between Mars and Uranus which has dominated the skies since May. This alignment is also linked to a preponderance of big earthquakes. It’s a danger that will continue for another week.

But for you on a personal level, you can take solace in the fact that there are plenty of auspicious alignments. Look west and you’ll see the young crescent Moon moving on past Venus and approaching Jupiter, Antares, Saturn and the Red Planet, Mars.

NATURE’S RAGE
Hurricane Florence is slowly moving in on the US East Coast. More than 100,000 homes are without power as weather conditions worsen. More than a million people in the Carolinas have been ordered to evacuate.

Meanwhile, Super typhoon Mangkhut takes aim at the Philippines. More than 4 million people are in its path. the massive storm is the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane. Countries across east and southeast Asia are issuing emergency alerts and ordering evacuations as both Mangkhut and a second storm, Typhoon Barijat hit the region.

And what under normal circumstances would be the top of the news, hundreds of people have been evacuated in three Massachusetts towns near Boston Massachusetts in an “overwhelming event” that resembled “Armegeddon.” Officials has said that between 60 and 80 fires and number of suspected gas explosions broke out in homes and businesses.

It’s an understatement to say that that something dramatic is happening worldwide. A square (90deg angle) between Mars and Uranus appears to be one of the celestial configurations reflecting these devastating events. It peaks next week.

FIRST QUARTER MOON AND MYSTERIOUS EVACUATION OF THE SUNSPOT SOLAR OBSERVATORY IN NEW MEXICO
The young Crescent Moon today reaches the First Quarter Phase when she appears as a Half Moon (right-sided semicircle). This is a pivotal point in her monthly cycle when you can make your wishes and connect with the
celestial source of serendipity. From this point on she will show her bump and continue growing into round fullness.

The First Quarter is a crucial moment in her monthly cycle. Seeds are sprouting and growing. Blossoms are appearing. In the next week our night luminary will grow into fullness. Life on Earth is taking a long deep breath inwards as we head to towards next weekend’s Full Moon.

Mystery sounds the closure of the Sunspot Solar Observatory in New Mexico. It’s considered one of the best ground-based solar observatories in the world. It was closed on September 6 due to a “security issue,” and it remains closed and under FBI investigation. No one will say why. The lack of any explanation from government officials has prompted wild speculation about UFOs.

GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING
The waxing Moon is bulging greater than the Half Moon point. She is positioned between Saturn and Mars. If you have a chance, and the sky is clear, look south after the sky goes dark and you’ll see the Moon positioned halfway between Saturn to the right and Mars on the left.

If circumstances are making you feel anxious, do your best to ease the angst by focussing your thoughts on everything and anything that lifts your spirits and builds your confidence. Your thoughts create your future, so be selective about what you allow in your head.

VENUS IS FIRING-UP UP FEMALE POWER
Venus aka Aphrodite will begin her retrograde cycle on October 5. It’s coming fast. There’s not long to go. All the planets have retrograde cycles when they appear to move backwards against the background of fixed stars. Venus does it once every year and 7 months. All subjects that come under the aegis of Venus/Aphrodite will be highlighted in our human experience.

The Venus retrograde will last for about six weeks from October 5 until November 16. There is slipstream that precedes it and follows it. The slipstream began in early September on about the 3rd.

There are a lot of issues that have come up. I’ll briefly mention one now. In the coming weeks, I’ll be bringing it up again and writing about the other events and topics in our human experience that are influence by Venus.

Regular readers may remember that I noted that the #metoo movement that began in October 2017 was stirred up by the Venus retrograde early in 2017. It took place in the warrior sign of Aries. Venus/Aphrodite was militant. This new Venus retrograde in feisty Scorpio is bringing it back to life again. It’s taking it further.

The US hearing on the confirmation of a new Supreme Court Judge has hit an unexpected impasse with the accusation of attempted rape on the candidate that dates back to when he was a high school student. If you’ve been following the news, you’ll know about this.

The confirmation hearing has become gender-infused debate. Women are taking note of this. Anger is spreading.

IMPORTANT NEWS FROM MERCURY
Mercury/Hermes has reached the far side of the Sun. His journey began in mid-September when his near-Earth orbit (retrograde cycle) ended and he commenced his journey towards the Sun from our geocentric vantage point.

Today is an important point in his journey when he shifts from a morning star to an evening star. In a few days he will emerge out of the golden light of the Sun and appear in the western sky after sunset.

His return journey to Earth has begun. He’ll be back in November. Right now, as he rounds the far side of the Sun, he’s got a ship full of prized possessions just for you. Some intuitive insights will come. Relax your mind. Breathe deeply. Mercury has something good to tell you.

This powerful female movement is gaining new life as Venus slows down in preparation for her next retrograde on October 5. We’ve crossed through the threshold of the Fall Equinox. We have entered the 4th quarter of the year. Now we will follow the Sun’s journey through Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. The next important point will be the Winter Solstice in December.
